2017 Audi Q7 Heads Back, Takata-Like Airbag Issues Reported

Audi will have to recall their new 2017 Audi Q7 after NHTSA concluded that the frontal airbag of the Audi Q7 might have some issue that is similar to what the Takata airbags had.

Although not the same, NHTSA pointed out that the frontal airbags on the Audi Q7 might deploy with more force than required in some crashed which is similar to the Takata airbags but unlike the Takata airbags, the issue here seems to be related to the software and not the hardware.

According to the recall, a total of 14,535 2017 Audi Q7 models will be affected by the recall. Audi’s solution to be to have the vehicles come on to get their airbag module updated with the new software which should help fix the issue.

The new 2017 Audi Q7 was given a full makeover last year and now comes with a $54,800 price tag.
