2016 Outlander Sport & Lancer Can’t Keep Up, Heads Back [Recall]

Mitsubishi will be issuing a recall to recall back the Outlander Sport, Outlander as well as their Lancers after an issue with the CVT was discovered.

According to the report by NHTSA, the CVT on these model has the tendency to lose signal which could lead to a delay in acceleration. A total of 82,436 units of Mitsubishis will be affected by this recall.

The affected models include the 2015 and 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, as well as the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer and Outlander that were fitted with the Jatco CVT. Those affected by the recall will have to head back to their dealer to get the CVT reprogram for free.

They did not mention if the issue has been the cause of any injuries, crashes or death. The recall started on the 15th of August. Those affected can call Mitsubishi for more information about the recall.
