2016 Mazda CX-9: The Numbers Is All We Need

We were all trying to guess the new EPA rating of the Mazda CX-9 when Mazda announce that the 2016 model was going to come with an improved fuel economy.

Before the EPA rating was release, NRCan tested the Mazda CX-9 out and came to the conclusion that the Mazda CX-9 will be 35% better than the previous model in terms of fuel economy but we need something more precise and that is exactly what we got.

Soon after that, Mazda announces that the Mazda CX-9 will return about 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. With the all-wheel drive system, the Mazda CX-9 will be returning about 21mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. That is about 32% more fuel efficient than the previous Mazda CX-9.

The Mazda CX-9 will be coming in with a 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be delivering about 250hp and 310lb ft of torque.
