2016 Mazda CX-9: New Numbers Looking Good

Mazda did mention that the Mazda CX-9 was going to come with a much better fuel economy. However, att hat time, they did not have the EPA numbers to show yet.

The Mazda CX-9 was tested by NRCan and they came out with the conclusion that the Mazda CX-9 should be 35% better than the previous model when it comes to fuel economy but how that does that translate to?

Well, the EPA results for the 2017 Mazda CX-9 is now out. According to EPA, the Mazda CX-9 with the front wheel drive system will return about 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. The Mazda CX-9 with the all-wheel drive system will return about 21mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway.

Based on the new numbers, the 2017 Mazda CX-9 should be 32% more fuel efficient than the previous model.

The 2017 Mazda CX-9 will be powered by a 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be delivering about 250hp and 310lb ft of torque.
