2016 Chevrolet Volt vs Toyota Prius: Not Green Enough

The Toyota Prius new design is more of an acquired taste. Although you might not like what Toyota had to offer in terms of design, there is no denying that the Prius is still one of the more fuel-efficient vehicles in the market but it is good enough to compete with the Chevrolet Volt.

Thanks to the upgrades done on the battery, the new Toyota Prius with its 4 cylinders hybrid engine will be able to return about 54mpg in the city and 50mpg on the highway. That is not the best the Prius has to offer either. The Eco model will be able to return about 58mpg in the city and 53mpg on the highway.

So what about the Chevrolet Volt? The new Volt will be coming in with a plug-in hybrid engine. With the engine, the Volt will be able to travel 53miles on electric alone. The electric engine combined with the gasoline engine will deliver a combination of 106mpg.

Better luck next time Prius.
