2016 Chevrolet Colorado Speeds Things Up, Tacoma Matches Output

One of the reasons why the Chevrolet Colorado is having such a hard time catching up to the Toyota Tacoma was their slow production rate. Chevrolet underestimated the demand and was struggle to meet the demands of their customers from the start.

They did try to speed things up by adding a third shift and while that did help move things along, it was still not enough. They then decided to upgrade their plant and that seems to be working for them. In April, GM manages to hit a combine sales of 13,389 units for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.

Under normal circumstances, the number would have been enough to beat or at least match what the Toyota Tacoma was offering but Toyota was not going to down that easily. They also added an extra shift at their Baja California Facility and manage to push their sales number up to 18,105.

Better luck next time Colorado.
