2016 BMW X5 vs Volvo XC90: Shiny & New

Both the Volvo XC90 and the BMW X5 was given a fresh new face this year but that is not the only thing new about these two models. With all the upgrades, which model do you think is the better premium SUV now?

The Volvo XC90 will be coming in with a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that will be delivering about 316hp. The engine will be mated to an eight-speed auto transmission and will return about 20mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway.

The BMW X5, on the other hand, will come in with a 300hp turbocharged six-cylinder engine that will be returning about 18mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway. BMW will also be offering a 255hp diesel engine that will return about 24mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway. There is also a V8 engine option and a top of the range 567hp engine option.

Both the Volvo XC90 and the BMW X5 will come with standard safety features like lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring as well as a multiangle rearview camera but the Volvo XC90 will come with a few more standard features like auto-braking, forward collision warning and more.
