2015 Porsche Cayenne Review: A Refinement From Its Predecessor

Porsche will be unveiling the all-new Cayenne and it is going to be a massive improvement from its predecessor. While it might just be a facelift from the previous Cayenne, the SUV will also be getting better efficiency.

Inside the vehicle, the upcoming Cayenne will be getting an extreme makeover. The SUV combines a contemporary look with volume and telephone controls. This is something very similar to the Porsche 918 hybrid super car. On the down side of things, the sat-nav has poor graphics and it often lags when driving at high speeds.

Under the hood, the Cayenne is powered by engines of multiple variants. The new mills are identified as the turbocharged petrol motor and the V6 plug-in hybrid. There is also the more familiar 4.2L twin-turbo diesel V8 that offers 380hp and 850Nm of torque.

The diesel power mill allows the Cayenne to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 5.3s while also achieving a top speed of 157mph. The eye candy is with the car’s fuel mileage which stands at 35.3mpg and carbon emission is only at 209g/km.

This is truly impressive as the Cayenne is powered by a V8 engine. Heck, it might just be the most environment-friendly V8 engine in history. The Cayenne, like the Macan, also impresses us with its handling. When taking on the corners and bends, we actually forgot that the Cayenne is an SUV, not a sports car.

All in all, the Porsche Cayenne is truly something sublime and will surely sell like hotcakes when it gets released. The diesel we tested retails at £61,474 and it will be making its debut this month.
