2015 Lada X-Ray Is So Maserati!

Russian carmakers rarely get the attention they deserve which is why the Moscow Motor Show is really important for them. The event has concluded last week and true enough, Lada managed to capture the eye of the world.

The Russian company unveiled a series of cars during the Motor Show and one of them is the five-door crossover/hatchback, the Xray 2. Based on the oringal Xray concept from 2012, the vehicle was developed by Steve Mattin, a former Mercedes and Volvo designer. The lad, who has a fat resume, is now a chief designer for Lada since 2011.

The Xray 2 will be a direct replacement to the Lada Granta and is developed closely with the upcoming sedan, the Vesta. With that being said, we can expect the Xray 2 to take some parts from the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The design will be inspired by Maserati as it comes with features like scalloped flanks and an overall shape that does not appear cheap, even though it is cheap. On the other hand, we feel that the Xray 2 looks so much like the Volvo XC60.

Lada will also introduce a new racing version of the Vesta, which will replace the Granta WTCC in the World Touring Car Championship. Of course, no details on the vehicles have been released as of this moment and we have to wait until the next Motor Show to get some information on the car.

As for the Xray 2 and the Vesta, both vehicles will be lined up for a release next year.
