2015 Citroen Divine DS Illustrates New Design Direction [PICS]

The Paris Motor Show will be happening in a couple of weeks from now and Citroen is hoping to make use of their home ground to unveil the best vehicles and concept in its inventory. Among them is the all-new Divine DS concept, which has already been teased in a video on YouTube.

The five-door hatchback is the perfect illustration of Citroen’s new styling direction. It has a measurement of 165 inches long and 78 inches wide, which makes it similar to the Volkswagen Golf. However, the new styling also ensures that drivers get a birds’ eye view of the roads as the seats are 53” in height. This is despite of the 20” wheels that the mainframe is resting on.

Aside from that, the Divine DS comes with spindly mirrors, hidden door handles and no bumpers. Citroen claims that this new styling makes it more elegant, spectacular and enchanting which is sort of true after viewing the video. This is partly owed to the sharp creases, bold angles and a faceted roof design that opens to deploy the rear-view camera.

Inside the cabin, there are three themes to choose from. There is the Male that offers carbon fiber and red stitching, the Parisienne Chic that offers ivory leather and pleated silk and the Fatale Punk which comes with black padded leather and Swarovski crystal-embedded fabric.

The Divine DS is also not short of technological prowess. It is equipped with things like laser turning indicators, holographic head-up display and a 10.4-inch touchscreen monitor. The Concept truly looks enticing and it would be better if the design cues reach out to the DS5.

Nevertheless, the Divine DS is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo four with 270 horsepower but this isn’t important for Citroen. The French carmaker is focusing on the design and nothing more. For the full details, consumers can start looking forward to the Paris Motor Show.
