2014 Porsche Cayenne Review: Forget Off-Roads, The SUV Is Best On-Roads!

Porsche had just released the all-new Cayenne and unlike its predecessor, this latest SUV comes with tons of improvements to its styling and performance. The Cayenne is basically the highly successful Macan, on a different body.

Like all the previous Cayenne, this beast comes with some off-road ability which isn’t necessary at all. Considering the fact that the Turbo S offers 550bhp propelling it to 62mph in a faintly ridiculous 4.5 seconds, the Cayenne actually makes a better on-road vehicle.

Much like the Macan, Porsche is able to clone the 911 handling on the Cayenne Turbo S. In fact, each and every model of Cayenne, except for the hybrid variant, is able to speed past the twisty and curvy road with ease. This is owed to the high-tech chassis that comes with the vehicle.

The Cayenne arrived with multiple versions to choose from. There is the 3.6L V6 which is decent, the V8 Turbo S that spells perfection, the diesel V6 which offers efficiency but lacks power; the 4.2L V8 diesel which is the best choice as it performs like the petrol model while being 7.1mpg more efficient, and the top of the line GTS that combines a 420bhp V8 with a very focused suspension tune.

Inside the interior, we notice that the Cayenne is designed much-liked most saloon cars. The central tunnel which sports the gear lever are sharply elevated and tons of buttons to control the infotainment system. The seat room are decently spaced and there is no complains on the size of the boot.

All in all, the Porsche Cayenne is everything that a sports car needs to be. Then again, the Cayenne turns out to be an SUV. Like all the other Porsche vehicle, the Cayenne is simply too expensive for its own good.
