2014 Honda Accord or Mazda 6: The Best Sedan To Buy Is…

The Honda Accord has long served the world as a reliable mid-sized sedan. The latest version of the Accord enjoys a successful launch due to it being more energy efficient. Then, there is the young name, the Mazda 6. Both cars are great in their own respective ways but which is better?

Looking at the Mazda 6, it is a well-designed car that offers a sporty look with a tinge of luxury. The Mazda 6 runs on a 184hp 2.5 liter gas 4-cylinder paired with a six speed manual transmission. Its fuel consumption is also decent, recording 25mpg in the city and 37mpg on the highway.

Mazda packed its sedan with tons of features. The list includes keyless ignition, power tilt steering wheel and voice recognition technology. One can own a Mazda for only $20,880.

Over at Honda, the Accord runs on a 185hp 2.4 liter gas 4 cylinder engine with a six speed manual. The engine is well-powered but it is not as efficient as the Mazda 6. The Accord achieves 24mpg in city driving and 34mpg on highway.

The Accord is also equipped with all the best features for a sedan. This includes climate control A/C, dual-zone climate control, power exterior mirror control and video display. It also has a daytime running light and it retails at $21,955.

On the other hand, the Honda Accord enjoys a much better resale value. After 3 years, the car is still valued at 61%. However, the value will drastically drop to 46% after 5 years.

Then again, it is all about cost of running for these sedans. This is why we sided with the Mazda 6 as the winner in this contest.
